If I could give the food a 10 star rating, I would. The food was beyond amazing. The portions were leagues above average and the quality, second to none. The food literally made my stomach tickle with joy. They must heat the plates too because my food was warm for an extended amount of time, a lot longer than usual. The coffee was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I was fully expecting a warm cup of crappy diner coffee. Instead I got a hot cup of OK coffee. Good enough to ask for a second cup. And a third, but the check came long before the third, and in fact I left after waiting several (at least 10) minutes for the third cup that never came. That bring me to the reason for a less than perfect 5 star rating. The lack of the 5th star rating comes from the server and and low budget interior. The server, which I refuse to name, was less attentive than I would've liked. I got the feeling though that she was preoccupied and just not there because of personal reasons. I've had plenty of days like that though, so I get it. The other server (not ours) was all over the place and on top of her tables to an above satisfactory rate. I wish she would've been our server. Both because it would've perhaps helped out our waiter and also to allow us the benefit of experiencing service with a quality to match the food. The interior was reminiscent of a Monet painting, whereas to stand back and glance at the place, it's charming and welcoming. Looking closer, however, yields feelings of mild discomfort. The more I began to nitpick the interior, the more I felt like I was dining at person's house who was on a fixed income and disabled with no help to keep up on their 1967 house. The latest renovation looks like it was done on a $7 budget by an unconscious drunk. The bathroom was less than satisfactory, but still not bad enough to complain too much. Throughout the restaurant there was just plain uncouth "repairs". Wallpaper was literally tacked down with pushpins, pictures staples to the wall, and the trim that wasn't peeling off the wall, was literally held on with electric tape. As bad as the interior and service was, there is nothing in that place that is bad enough to keep me from going back at least another 100 times. I will keep going back until I try everything on their menu. A menu, which by the way, is not only cutely designed, but very easy to read, and detailed. It wasn't all bad inside though, the dishes were clean and so was the table. And like I said earlier, it really was welcoming and comfortable. My wife and I had a very very nice meal together in a somewhat quiet family restaurant that will surely be green-flagged in our small dossier of favorite places to dine.

Again, a small town staple- many old couples come to relive old memories of their golden days. A little dingy, but no bugs or rat. Food is subpar, but good if you aren't picky or if you have grown up with it. Music is great! Decoration ideal for a 50s diner lover; perfect place to bring grandchildren and share stories

Great place to eat. Friendy staff, and the 50's 60's atmosphere was a delight. I ordered the homemade lasagna dinner and it was delicious! Portions were very generous. For a unique dining experience, you have to visit The Hometown Diner.

Love it. The atmosphere, the music, the portions and the prices. I usually get the Philly Steak and Cheese. The tea is fantastic.
